The Sims 2 is just the base game. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe is The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Nightlife, and The Sims 2 Celebration! Stuff. Nightlife is an expansion pack (EP), which basically means it adds new features and objects, clothes and hair to the game. Celebration Stuff is a stuff pack (SP), which just adds objects, clothes, hair, etc to the game. You can buy Nightlife and Celebration Stuff separate from the base game, but if you want them you should get Double Deluxe. It'd be cheaper.

Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Containing Sims 2 base game, one expansion pack which is Sims 2 Nightlife (Sims can date, romance and go dancing in club, bar or dine out as well as have cars) and one Stuff pack; Sims 2 Celebration Pack (contains new stuffs, basically party-themed stuffs)

My sister and I have wanted the Sims 2 for ages and we kept telling ourselves to save money that it was too complicated and that there wouldn't be much different from the Sims 1, which we had, and the price was ridiculous. But after going to my friends house and playing on it, I found I had been totally wrong. It was so much better and amazing.
So my sister and I looked into it and found the cost was so high and we didn't have that kind of money so I forgot about it.
Then a few weeks before the sims 3 came out my sister brought home Sims 2 Double Deluxe. I was like WOW! Thanks.
And we have hardly come off of it since.
Sims 2 is for more or less the same price now as the Sims 2 Double Deluxe but the double luxe is alot better and saves alot more money. The Sims 2 double deluxe gives you Nightlife and Celebration Stuff which saves you about 拢20 or more as you don't have to buy those 2 expansion packs.
I completely recommend it as there is so many expansion and stuff packs if you just get ordinary Sims 2 you will have to spend so much more making it better. Nightlife is fabulous and with Celebration stuff you can hold the best parties and weddings.
Its really good and saves time with you having to download three games instead.
Basically-
Double Deluxe gives Celebration Stuff and Nightlife whereas Sims 2 Ordinary just gives the basics.
They are both good but I really reccommend the Double Deluxe, you have so many more opportunities and furniture and you can do more things with your Sims.Whats the difference between the Sims 2 and Sims 2 double deluxe?
Well Sims 2 Double Double Deluxe Has more things inside it. Like there is the Sims 2 game inside and Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion, and The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff Pack. The plain Sims 2 just has well, Sims 2 :)
I would get Double Deluxe because it has more, and the plain sims 2 is hard to find, and because it double deluxe is $20
the difference is that the sims 2 is just one game for 20$ but the sims 2 double deluxe is the sims 2, nightlife, and celebration stuff all for 20$. so if i were you i would get double deluxe and double deluxe is a lot more fun since it have more stuff life partys, cars, vampires, dates, weddings, and more

the sims 2 original is just the game
i have double deluxe and i love it. you can make your sims go to night clubs, bowling alleys, and other really cool things. I would get double deluxe.
The sims2 will have less objects than the sims2 double deluxe..hince why it is called "double deluxe"
double deluxe has two bonus expansions built into the disc
