How to exit out an already existing sims family on the sims 3?

How do i exit out an already existing sims family on the sims 3, and go directly onto that same neighbourhood, but with different people?

(If you get what I'm saying), I've already saved sims games but whenever i go back onto the sims 3 it now only has the saved family, and i'm not sure how to go onto the neighbourhood rather than play on those sims.

I'm finding it difficult to get used to the new sims.

Go onto options, then 'Edit Town' and then click 'Change active household.'



The only thing is though, if you have story progression on, your family might change while you're away, eg. the people might grow up, have another child, get fired from their job etc.



But you can take story progression off if you go into the options menu.
you have to make a whole new neighbor hood and choose those ppl from the family bin. but if you want to have the same neighbor hood but play with different people you should go to edit town (thats when ur about to quit the game) and move the people you want to play in to a house. after that there is a thing to click that says change existing family (i think) and it has a house to an arrow to another house then just follow the directions :)How to exit out an already existing sims family on the sims 3?
I'm a little confused...

When you start the game, you enter the last family you played, no matter if you exited from the nei'hood or not. Once in the new family, go to the start up menu in the game and go to EDIT TOWN. it';; ask if you want to save... whatever it doesn't matter it saves anyways. In town mode, go to the button with the houses on it (by start up button) and then it'll ask you if you want to leave that home... you'll lose wishes or something. Hit yes or check and then go to chose household and find the house you want.

if you want to exit there is a button in the bottom right hand corner tht u can click and then click quit

or if u want to change houses go into edit town then change active household then either choose one already there or make a new on hope tht helped
