Whats the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?

I really want the sims 3 because you can actually play with the whole town without loading and stuff like that. Is there really a big difference??? So can someone tell me how its different from the sims 2??Whats the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?
in my opinion its alot better than sims 2, theres no loading screens so it makes it easier when your sim is going to other places..it actually follows the sims car as its driving through town, theres personality traits which are alot of fun..like if your sim is evil they like to do mean things to people if they have the klepto trait they can go into other peoples houses and steal stuff, there are tons of other traits that effect your sims actions, another difference is there are different interaction commands than the sims 2, in creat-a-sim you can personalize hairstyles (they have different hair styles too) and you can make them have any color highlights or any color hair, you can change the color of their clothes and the patterns, you can choose which voice you would like them to have and the pitch of it, and the sims look more realistic, there is a graveyard in the town that you can visit, for parties you can have them in public places like the park or beach and invite people there like to get married and stuff, the kids look more like the parents, and i could go on and on forever about the differences but its alot of fun and ull never get bored theres always something to do
its pretty much awesome!!

i got mine this morning and haven't been off lol. the create a sim is so advanced that no sim would ever have to resemble another.. and you can edit everything! i am a big zebra fan and my woman had zebra clothes, bed spread, rugs, couches, even her car (its pink :) ) but you can do so many different things its amazing.. it is a lot different at first and a little difficult to get used to having the whole neighborhood open but one you get the hang of it its a lot of fun.. i highly recommend it!Whats the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?
like you said no town loading, you see the town as a whole map. detail is way more refined, and you can customize clothing and body/facial features better. want/need level changed. better graphics. building/buy mode sorting changed slightly and easier. you can put objects at an angle now, which you couldn't before. in the options you can turn aging on and off....and many more...
well other than the fact that you can play the whole town the buy and build modes are different and the graphics are better. there are also a number of traits you can chooseWhats the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?
Well its supposed be heaps better because you dont have to wait for it to load and the graphics are meant to be really good. But alot of people are complaining about it......
VERY different, but still very much the same.
