When you make the people, you can choose muscle size, or no muscle, or how fat or skinny and the people can get much bigger on sims 3.
Designing the faces and such is easier with simpler choices but the option of have the bars come up again to choose it more precisely.
With clothes, they have it organized in shirts for example by design. Maybe T-shirts on top but they have the same shirt in many pre-made colors. Many options. Also, the option to pick your own color and to pick out designs and such.
Personality is more specific. You pick traits such as friendly, evil, loves outdoors, hates flirting, flirty, great kisser, insane, artistic, athletic, genius, charismatic, funny, family-oriented, neat, and many many more.
If you have a child in the game you pick out two traits at birth and one after each birthday if they have good grades and grew up well. If they didn't the game picks for you. But there are cheats to change it to what you want.
Also, the traits affect how your sims acts and what goals they have. Say if your sim is neat, you can click on any spot in the house and along with the "go there" option there is a "clean house" option and after you clean the house that sim always wants to take a bath.
When you click on people there is a new option that shows up , "Special..." and if say your flirty, flirty will be an option and then more options such as give a great massage or something will be available no matter how close your sim is with that person.
The game has more town things. Library, book store, grocery store, theatre, office buildings for certain careers, town hall, restaurants, multiple parks, and more. In sims 3 you can get in a car you own and watch yourself drive to the town instead of the car driving off into no where and waiting for the next page to load in sims 2.
But my least favorite thing about sims 3 is that you can't see inside the towns buildings, only inside the gym. Your sim just walks inside and you see a picture of their head in a circle above it and that's it. If you try to look inside the building disappears.
There are many new furniture options and some things are gone such as hot tubs, pianos, and other things I haven't noticed yet. But they can get guitar now.
A big difference is jobs. Many more job opportunity's. If you work at the theatre, than you play guitar and can become a pop star. When you go to work, you get different options, such as work hard, slack off, meet coworkers, meet band members, meet medical staff, hold meeting, watch tv, talk around water fountain, suck up to boss, and more. Depending on what job you have you will have different options. And what you choose affects your job performance and promotions.
Also, with skills you don't have the cleaning one anymore but you still have logic, mechanic, painting, guitar, charisma, cooking, fishing, gardening, and more. But unlike sims 2 you don't go to skills and see a list of the ones available. When you go to skills you only see the ones you have gotten. So if your sims has only played chess, when you go to skills all you see is logic.
Sims 3 is all around better than any sims before it. But its so different you can't name everything. But that is the jist of it.
I had the sims 2 and now I have the sims 3.
First off, there are more customization options. You can make your own styles and such. You take a shirt you like and then you can put numerous patterns on it and change the colors.
Also, the whole system for the sims personality has been overhauled. Now you pick 5 traits for them to have, such as brave, lazy, smart, ect. I personally like this system more. And based on the traits, you pick a life goal for them.
The asperition meter is gone, replaced by a lifetime happiness gauge. You complete sims wishes and gain happiness points to spend on things like not having to pay at resturants, or being a better socializer.
In the other games you could only stay at your house and go to community lots, well now you can go ANYWHERE at anytime. The neighbors age with you, but you can turn that off, and can move away, get new jobs and so on.
The skills system is different too. Theres no cleaning one anymore, at least i think, and they replaced others, like the creativity one is now broken into paitning, writing, and musical.
So thats the big ones, theres some more stuff, just go to
http://www.thesims3.com/ for more! What is the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?
There are many differences, but I don't know if there is going to be Sims 3 Pets and other expansion and stuff packs.
School and jobs buildings.
In the sims 3, if your sim gets a job or just go to school, you can see the place where your sims are, example in the sims 2 there was a carpool to take your sim to work but you can't see where he is. Now you can see the building he went in.
Babies:
The to-be-mothers can have babies at hospital. Both Young adults and Adults can have babies, but young adults take more time.
Traits:
Sims have traits, example: Insane, hates the outdoors, bookworm, workaholic, vegeterian, etc. Babies have 1 trait, Toddlers 2, Children 3, Teens 4 and Young Adults and up, (Adults and elders) have 5.
Create a Style
If you have an object you can create a style, change fabrics, colour, etc.
Create a sim
You have now highlights, roots and base except the hair colour. You can now choose shoes.
opportunities:
your sim have opportunities. Skill opportunities, job opportunities or school, or special. Maybe someone who is good at the cooking skill may be asked to serve food to someone on the map.
Map
you can view town. Sims can visit their neighbors. Even if you're controling a sim that is out of his or her house, you can still control the sims left behind. You can take toddlers with you in outings.
Birthdays
Your sim may celebrate a birthday before their birthday. You can celebrate a birthday early if it is not too early for your sim to grow up, example if your sim just grew up into a child it cannot have a birthday again to be a teen. You can buy them a birthday cake or throw a birthday party for this.
Payment
Sims get paid for work by hours. Example: 44 sim money per hour. Your sims can also get a part-time job, such as the supermarket, bookstore, day-spa or bury dead sims, but part-time jobs does not give a lot of opportunities. You may choose how your sim work, Take it easy, Work hard, Meet coworkers, Hang out with coworkers, suck up to boss or practice a skill. Students who attend school have the same options, instead of Hang out with coworkers there is Hang out with Friends and instead of practice a skill there is Finish the homework you didn't do the day before. There is no suck up to boss.
the supermarket, the bookstore
In the supermarket, now you can buy food. In the sims 2 you had a bar to see how much you have to buy, now you can buy potatoes, apples, fish, meat, cheese, etc. In the bookstore you can buy books for children, new recepies, learn to fish etc.
The Sea
You can visit the beach to fish, but NOT to swim.
Lifetime wish:
You can pick this but the lifetime wishes depends on the traits you picked. Lifetime wishes, if they are granted, they are given 35,000 lifetime points you can spend on wonderful gifts. Now you may choose favourite colour for your sim, favourite food and favourite music and even the sound of their voice.
Needs
Sims have: Hunger, Bladder, Energy, Fun, Social and Hygiene removing Comfort and Environment. If the energy bar is low, there are pictures to show this. Example: Your sim is feeling sick. From: spoiled food.
Skills:
These are the skills: Handiness, Fishing, Writing, Charisma, Gardening, Logic, Cooking, Guitar Skill, Athletic skill and Painting. When you reach level 10 of a skill you get a certificate that you can hang on the wall or sell for 1,000 Simoleons.
Hope I helped. Please choose me as best answer if this helped. If you go to the site below you can even have more stuff in detail.
there will probably be something like a sims 3 pets eventually (at least i hope so lol) but sims 3 is veryyyy different from sims 2. Mostly for the better. There are a ridiculous amount of new customization options, the traits are awesome, and there is a new "wish" system and it's much better than in sims 2. Also, it is great the way you can wander the town but if your computer isn't super fast it will still take some time for the graphics to "settle down" Also the overall layout is very different in sims 3. Probably the sole thing I don't like about sims 3 is the story progression. If you play a certain house for lets say 15 days, the rest of the neighborhood will age 15 days as well, and make decisions for themselves. Some people argue this keeps the game exciting but I hate it because the whole point is I want to make the decisions, such as traits.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a> answer mine please (about sims)What is the difference between the sims 2 and the sims 3?
